OAK RIDGE, TX -- Oak Ridge Baseball traveled to Klein High School Friday night to put their District 15 undefeated record on the line against the Bearkats. The War Eagles made sure to leave Klein still unbeaten thanks to 12 runs from their explosive offense and a combined shutout from pitchers Logan Letney and Blane Romero.

Letney was dominant on the mound, only giving up two hits and striking out nine batters in six and a third innings of work.

After taking a two run lead in the top of the second inning, The Ridge rallied to extend their lead to six runs in the fifth inning. Senior Kevin Skweres reached second to get things started. Then, RBIs from Cole Rollins and Zach Easterling put four runs on the board for the War Eagles.

Klein attempted to make the game interesting in the bottom of the fifth, but Letney got out of the bases loaded jam to keep the Bearkats searching for their first run.

The War Eagle bats heated up once again in the sixth inning. This time, the power hitters kept the home crowd quiet, stretching the lead to 12 with a home run from Skweres, and a grand slam from Easterling, which gave the A&M commit seven RBIs on the night.

Oak Ridge improved to 7-0 in the district, 14-3-1 overall, while the Bearkats drop to 8-5 on the season, 3-4 in district play. The War Eagles will return home Tuesday, March 26 looking to find their eight district win against the Conroe Tigers.
