8th Annual Woodlands Township Public Safety Awards

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Each spring, The Woodlands Township honors local first responders for their accomplishments during the previous year at an annual awards banquet. The 8th annual Woodlands Township Public Safety Awards event was held on Saturday March 23, at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center with hundreds of people in attendance, including honorees, guests, and many community leaders. This annual event pays tribute to local first responders for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving the people that live, work and play in the Woodlands area.

This year’s event honored 22 individuals in public safety from The Woodlands Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the Montgomery County Hospital District, the Montgomery County Constable's Office, Precinct 3 and Harris County Constable's Office, Precinct 4.

This year’s award recipients included 8 members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. They are as follows:
Meritorious Service Award – Sergeant Jason Moore
Community Policing Award – Deputy Stephanie Coroiescu
Commendation Awards – Deputy Joneatta Brown, Detective Jason Prince, and Sergeant David Hernandez.
Life Saving Awards were presented to Deputy Aaron Day, Lieutenant Clay Swilling, and Deputy Zachary Vercher.

The Woodlands Township hosts this event each year, along with support and sponsorship from many businesses and individuals in The Woodlands and South Montgomery County area.
