The Woodlands Township honors those who serve at annual Public Safety Awards

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township honored 23 public safety personnel for going the extra mile to make The Woodlands a safer community as The Woodlands Township hosted the eighth Annual Public Safety Awards, Honoring Those Who Serve.

Held Saturday, March 23, 2019, the event paid tribute to 23 individuals in public safety from The Woodlands Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Hospital District, the Montgomery County Constable’s Office, Precinct 3, Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol and Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4. Each honoree was chosen by their respective department for exemplary service and dedication to public safety.

Receiving the Meritorious Unit Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to The Woodlands Fire Department were Battalion Chief Michael Berryman, Lieutenant Larry Grissom, Firefighter Mike Iacino, Firefighter Brandon Reade and Firefighter Eduardo Escobar.

Receiving the Meritorious Unit Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Hospital District were District Chief Jacob Shaw, Captain Kerri King, Dispatcher Chris Wood, Paramedic Brandy Stevens, Paramedic Meagan Heinrich, Paramedic Diego Aguilar and Paramedic Aaron Guembes.

Receiving the Meritorious Service Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol was Sergeant Joshua Pullen.

Receiving the Meritorious Service Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 3 was Deputy Patrick Patterson.

Receiving the Meritorious Service Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 was Deputy Lorena Hernandez.

Receiving the Meritorious Service Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was Sergeant Jason Moore.

Receiving the Community Policing Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was Deputy Stephanie Coroiescu.

Receiving the Commendation Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were Deputy Joneatta Brown, Detective Jason Prince and Sergeant David Hernandez.

Receiving a Life Saving Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were Deputy Aaron Day, Lieutenant Clay Swilling and Deputy Zachary Vercher.

The Woodlands Township hosts this event each year, along with support and sponsorships from many other businesses and individuals in The Woodlands and South Montgomery County area. This year, the major sponsors were America’s ER, Woodforest National Bank, Alpha and Omega Mounted Patrol and The Woodlands Development Company/The Howard Hughes Corporation.
