THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning, March 27, Shenandoah Police Sergeant C. Pullen stopped a white GMC truck in the 19200 block of David Memorial. Sergeant Pullen noticed something peculiar and began what turned out to be a lengthy investigation. The truck, driven by Sarah McLamb, returned as stolen out of La Porte, Texas. A passenger of the vehicle, Shawn Weathermax, had two felony warrants and attempted to hide his real identity. A 15-year-old juvenile occupant of the truck was in possession of marijuana.

All three people were arrested and the stolen truck was recovered. McLamb was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Weathermax was charged with Failure to Identify Fugitive in addition to the two warrants that were outstanding against him. The juvenile was charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

This type of aggressive police work is necessary in Shenandoah and Montgomery County because of recent increases in Burglary of Motor Vehicle and Stolen Vehicle cases. Criminals search for vehicles they can easily steal, vehicle parts, weapons, and personal property that they can easily trade for small amounts of cash or drugs.

Shenandoah Police Chief Raymond M. Shaw commends Sergeant Pullen’s keen eye in this apprehension and reminds everyone to lock, take, and hide their valuables when leaving their vehicle unattended. Unlocked vehicles are much easier to steal. “If criminals can see it, they are going to try to take it,” said Shaw. “Help your law enforcement officers by not making it easy for criminals to steal things you worked hard for.” Shaw also reminds everyone to not leave weapons in their cars or trucks.
