Nearly 3,000 Let Good Times Roll at Woodforest Crawfish Carnival
THE WOODLANDS, TX --Almost 3,000 people enjoyed a kaleidoscope of crunchy crustaceans, carnival rides and colorful fun at the Woodforest Crawfish Carnival April 6.
Mounds of crawfish and a Ferris wheel highlighted the inaugural event, which was held at Christine Allen Nature Park in the Montgomery County community. Other activities included Zydeco music; a carousel; carnival games and food; crawfish races; inflatables; a stilt walker; a photo booth; and more.
“This was so much fun,” said Woodforest Marketing Director Faith Pitman. “We worried that early storms might dampen attendance, but that turned out to not be a problem. Thousands of people came out for a fun afternoon.”
Talk is already underway for next year’s carnival, she said.
The carnival was a keystone event for Houston’s Largest Home Tour, sponsored by Woodforest developer Johnson Development Corp. During the month-long tour, the public can tour hundreds of model homes and available homes in 13 Johnson communities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
