Public Meeting - FM 1488 Access Management Study from I-45 to FM 149
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Houston District will hold a public meeting to solicit input on an access management study for Farm-to-Market (FM) 1488 from Interstate Highway 45 (I-45) to FM 149.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Mitchell Intermediate School Cafeteria, 6800 Alden Bridge Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382. The meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience and provide comments. Staff will be available to answer questions; no formal presentation is planned.
The purpose of access management is to provide vehicular access to land development in a manner that preserves the safety and efficiency of the transportation system. The study aims to identify short-, medium-, and long-range improvements to reduce crashes, improve mobility, enhance multi-modal connectivity, and support existing and future development.
Maps of the study corridor and exhibits will be available at the public meeting. This information is also available for review by appointment Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding state holidays, at the TxDOT Houston District Office, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007. Written comments must be postmarked or submitted electronically by Friday, June 7, 2019.
Materials for the public meeting will be provided in English. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, or require an interpreter, are encouraged to contact TxDOT’s Public Information Office at (713) 802-5022. Requests should be made at least five days prior to the public meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
