THE WOODLANDS, TX -- A Flash Flood Watch is in effect starting today at 1:00 p.m. and continuing through Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Forecasted rainfall totals estimate about 5 to 8 inches widespread, with isolated 9 to 12 inches possible through the weekend.

Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is in constant contact with the National Weather Service and continues to monitor weather and river conditions. The storms that are slated to pass over southeast Texas are projected to produce one to three inches of rain each day. This means that some areas could receive upwards of six inches of rainfall over the duration of these storms. The heavy rainfall threat should begin to diminish on Sunday.
