MAGNOLIA, TX -- Magnolia ISD librarians and administration are excited to bring the inaugural summer reading kick-off program “Magnolia Reads Jubilee.” The event is scheduled for Friday, June 21 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Magnolia Event Center.

Students attending this free event will have the opportunity to play games to win books, meet storybook characters including Clifford, Pete the Cat, Curious George and Dog Man, and meet authors Debbie Leland and Jackie Mims Hopkins. The Magnolia Fire Department and Precinct 5 Constable's Office will be there and enjoy free food sponsored by Gordon Foods and HEB.

Research shows that giving students books to read over the summer helps with student achievement, inspires literacy and a lifelong love of reading and learning! As a community, we are making a difference by creating a culture of literacy and a love of reading.

Thank you to our title sponsors including the Magnolia Education Foundation, After School Adventures, Commissioner Charlie Riley, Davam Urgent Care, and Hometown Dentistry. A thank you also to our campus sponsors including Carswell Real Estate, Cornett Grass Sales & Installation, Big 4 Steel, PGS Landscaping, Scholastic, Maker Maven, Toll Brothers, HMH Publishing, HEB, Montgomery County Public Library, Kona Ice, Chick-fil-A, Terry Family, Lindley Family, Tacker Brothers, The Meating Place, Ounce 'O Bounce, and Texas Life Realty.
