THE WOODLANDS, TX – Due to increasing requests from commuters, The Woodlands Express Park and Ride service to Houston has added the Museum District as a new destination in its route. The service provides a comfortable, convenient and economical way to commute round-trip to the Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, the Central Business District of Houston and now the heart of the Museum District. This service is provided Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Commuters wanting to commute to the Museum District should take the buses on the Texas Medical Center route from any of the three Park and Ride locations in The Woodlands:
- Research Forest Park and Ride, located at 3900 Marsico Place
- Sterling Ridge Park and Ride, located at 8001 McBeth Way
- Sawdust Park and Ride, located at 701 Westridge Road

There will be a total of eight morning runs to the Museum District and nine afternoon runs returning to The Woodlands. Times and location maps for these runs can be found on the Township website at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/parkandride. Departure times from the Park and Ride locations on the website are precise, while stop times listed are estimates, as variables of traffic, weather and other factors may affect arrival times at stop locations.

For accurate arrival times to locations, commuters are encouraged to track The Woodlands Express vehicle in real time from a smartphone or mobile device. The Next Bus app displays bus locations, estimated arrival times and more. The @ridesystems app is available for download in the Apple Store and on Google Play.

In addition, The Woodlands Express has recently launched a Mobile Ticketing App, allowing riders to purchase tickets on their smartphones anytime, anywhere and then display them on screen when boarding the bus. Riders using the app can pay for tickets using a credit or debit card, or via digital payment services such as Masterpass and Apple Pay. Both round-trip tickets and ticket books, which give riders 20 round-trip tickets, are available. Once purchased, the tickets work offline and are stored in the app, to be displayed on screen as a digital watermark which is read when boarding. The app is available for download from both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“This new addition to the Museum District is good news for residents of The Woodlands to enjoy the world-class museums that Houston has to offer, and to get there and back in a convenient, comfortable and affordable way,” says Township Chairman Gordy Bunch.
