THE WOODLANDS, TX -- It’s the last full week of summer for most students in the area, and this week is packed full of events to keep you in that summer feeling. Here’s our list of the Top 5 things to do around The Woodlands this week:

Parents of children know how hard parenting can be. The Woodlands Christian Academy invites you to hear New York Times Best Selling Author Dr. Wendy Mogel, author of “The Blessing of a Skinned Knee” and “The Blessing of a B Minus,” speak about the pressures culture puts on kids today. She will speak on August 5 in the Micah Auditorium at The Woodlands Christian Academy. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please RSVP to nsievert@twca.net.

Salt Remedy invites anyone who loves being healthy to Mimosas, Mingle & Masks August 6 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Indulge in mimosas, lite bites, and fast-acting facial masks. When your facial mask is complete, you’ll get to enjoy a 30-minute salt session in a spa room. Take a little time for YOU in this self-care event that will get you relaxed and ready for the new school year. There will also be drawings and special wellness packages at the event. Are you ready to make some memories with your family? Head over to The Adventure Begins on August 7 from 6 - 10 p.m. for Family Game Night! This is an exciting evening where you can game with your friends and family. You’re welcome to try one of the in-store demo games or bring games from home.


Rock the Row Summer Concert Series on August 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. features free live music in Hughes Landing for the whole family. The Howard Hughes Corporation and The Woodlands Township bring this rockin’ fun to the community. Bring lawn chairs, food, and drinks and then relax by the water with the live music of The Nailers, who will be playing classic rock.

If you can’t get enough live music, head to Dosey Doe’s Big Barn for Chuck Mead and the Grassy Knoll Boys on August 9. Chuck Mead is a renowned songwriter who puts on a great live show. This will be a CD release for the band. The kitchen will be open, so show up to the show early for a delicious dinner beforehand. Tickets can be purchased at doseydoetickets.com.

There are so many great events going on around town all week, this is just the tip of the iceberg. From high school volleyball teams starting games this week to local restaurants with special tastings, there’s no shortage of things to do around town.
