THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard in The Woodlands, Texas.

In support of local organizations and citizens that acknowledge suicide and mental illness and encourage themselves and the community to help others realize that suicide is not the answer, the Board of Directors proclaimed the month of September as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in The Woodlands, Texas.

The Board of Directors proclaimed and encouraged all residents and businesses in The Woodlands, Texas, to recognize the value of a diverse community and to honor and support the long-standing tradition of advancing a community where everyone feels welcome, safe and secure, to grow and thrive into the best future that we can envision.

The Board of Directors accepted reports from Village Association representatives from the villages of Alden Bridge and Grogan’s Mill.

The Board of Directors took the following action on the Consent Agenda:

Approved changes to the board operations policy related to public comment at Board meetings.
The Board of Directors then moved on to take the following actions on the Regular Agenda:

Took no action on Incorporation Planning Study matters.
Accepted a presentation from the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District regarding subsidence in Montgomery County.
Received a briefing on the 2019 Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas.
Took no action on the Harris County Appraisal District Board of Directors election process.
Approved the Financial Advisor’s proposed Plan of Financing related to issuance of the Township’s Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2019 and the Township’s Sales Tax and Hotel Occupancy Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2019.
Approved the following in connection with the Refunding Bonds: (i) authorized Bracewell LLP to serve as Special Tax Counsel and authorized the President/General Manager to execute the engagement letter in connection therewith; (ii) designated Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company N.A. as Paying Agent/Registrar; and (iii) designated Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company N.A. as Escrow Agent.
Received and accepted the financial report.
