THE WOODLANDS, TX -- College Park came into Saturday nights non-district game against Aldine MacArthur with a simple plan. Run the ball and if that doesn’t work, run the ball some more.

Quajon Charles scores 2 TD's for College Park

Behind their behemoth offensive line, led by Texas A&M commit Josh Bankhead, the Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to win their second game of the season 42-13 against an overmatched General squad.

“We wanted to play to our strength and our O-Line from the beginning,” said Cavalier head football coach Lonnie Madison.

“Hats off to MacArthur, the first half they executed a good game plan, they were able to run the ball a little bit after the first couple drives and keep us off the field. Im happy with the adjustments we made at halftime and how we played in the second half.”

The Cavs dominated the last two quarters holding the Generals scoreless while scoring 28 unanswered points. Senior running back Quajon Charles set the tone early with first quarter touchdown runs of 3 and 13 yards respectively.

He credits the offensive line with opening massive holes for the run team.

“The mindset the whole game was run the ball down their throat,” said Charles.

“We’re going to come here and just give it to them. We wanted to do it the whole game and that’s what we did.”

Up next for College Park will be Conroe Friday night at Woodforest Stadium in both teams first district game. Conroe comes off a big win Thursday night over Aldine Davis where quarterback Christian Pack and receiver Michael Phoenix combined for four touchdown passes and 127 yards rushing.

“They’ve got a good football team with a good quarterback and a good wide receiver,” said Madison.

“We knew year two with Coach (Cedric) Hardeman, he does a great job with that football team. With our coaches we’ll come in tomorrow (Sunday), watch some film and start coming up with a game plan.”

Friday nights game between Conroe and College Park will be broadcast on-demand at WoodlandsOnline.com beginning one hour after the conclusion.
