Shenandoah Police Bust Nets Four Home Depot Thieves

SHENANDOAH, TX - On 11-25-2019 officers from the Shenandoah Police Department were dispatched to Home Depot, located in the 19100 block of Interstate 45, in reference to a suspicious person possibly removing security tags off of items in the store.

As officers arrived on the scene, a late model Honda Accord, bearing New York license plates, was observed leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Responding officers immediately attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which point the suspect vehicle fled northbound on David Memorial at extremely high speeds. The suspect vehicle then struck a curb at the intersection of David Memorial and Shenandoah Park Drive, left the roadway, and became disabled.

Four suspects then fled the vehicle on foot. Units from the Shenandoah Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constables Office, Oak Ridge North Police Department, and The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the area and quickly set up a perimeter. All four suspects were taken into custody and were found to be in possession of a large amount of counterfeit U.S. currency.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of a large quantity of unopened cordless tools, most of which were purchased from Home Depots in the Houston Metropolitan area, in the trunk of the suspects' vehicle. Detectives from the Shenandoah Police Department, working in conjunction with Home Depot Loss Prevention, were able to ascertain that the suspects had used counterfeit bills to purchase some of the tools from the Home Depot in Sugarland. Giobani Cruz, David Figueroa, Jonathan Pequero, and Christopher Perdikakis, all from New York, have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, a second-degree felony, and evading arrest. All four suspects are currently being held In the Montgomery County Jail.
