Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Completes 'No Shave November'

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- During the month of November, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office personnel were a little more “fuzzy” after taking part in “No Shave November.” The purpose of the month-long fundraiser was to help raise awareness for cancer research. Sheriff’s Office personnel paid a minimum of $50.00 to participate in the initiative. On December 16, 2019, Sheriff Rand Henderson, on behalf of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, presented a check for the money raised in the amount of $17,300.00 to The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission is to aid in the research for cures of blood cancers, and improve the quality of life for patients and survivors. Sheriff Henderson said, “It was an honor to once again partner with the leukemia and lymphoma society in the fight against cancer. Their continued work in cancer research and the responsible use of funds was the reason why we chose to partner with them for a second year.” Participation in the event was voluntary but extensive, with nearly 270 Deputies and other employees donating as part of the fundraiser.
