NEW CANEY, TX -- “Go big or go home,” the saying goes, and for the Fourth Annual East Texas Fire & Ice Festival, the East Montgomery County Improvement District is moving the popular festival to Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures in New Caney off of Highway 242. The event is scheduled for May 2 from 1 - 9 p.m. and is free to the public.

The change in venue means that not only do festival-goers get their Fire & Ice favorites like the ice sleds, fire performances, carnival and a fireworks show, but attendees will also have full access to Big Rivers’ water slides, wave pool and splash pads, and will receive punch cards to experience the Mystic Forest maze, Big Al’s Farm Friends petting zoo, Pony Express and Wild Isle, a water challenge course. Want to sit back and relax? Attendees can head over to the Biergarten for refreshing drinks and cool tunes.

“This year’s Fire & Ice Festival at Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures is sure to be the hottest- coolest place to be this May,” said Kelley Mattlage, Chief Communications Officer. “We’re always looking to provide the best experience for our community in everything we do, and we believe that teaming up with Big Rivers for this event will offer festival goers an experience they won’t forget.”

Big Rivers’ aerial attractions, like the zip lines, challenge course, rock climbing wall and free-fall experience, will be available for per-attraction fees. These will also require prior online registration. Come back later for a link for registration.
