TOMBALL, TX -- On January 21, 2020, the Tomball Police Department was notified by Concordia
Lutheran High School administration that a teacher was believed to have a pistol in his
possession while on campus illegally. Concordia Lutheran High School staff contacted the Tomball Police Officers and asked for their assistance in investigating the situation.
With Concordia Lutheran High School staff the Tomball Police Department spoke with the
teacher, Mark Alan Davis, and determined that he was in fact in possession of a pistol
while on campus at Concordia Lutheran High School, which is a violation of the law. The
officers also found that he had made a comment to another staff member about an
internal promotion that he did not receive and made reference to the same staff member
that a job reference that was given by a member of Concordia Lutheran’s staff to another school had cost him a coaching position. During the same conversation Mr. Davis went on to say he was going to buy a Springfield automatic rifle and that he had a gun upstairs.
This statement caused alarm to the staff member, who then reported it to the school
administration. School administration then contacted the Tomball Police Department and
after completing their investigation, charges for Threaten to Exhibit or Use a Firearm at
School, a misdemeanor, and Carrying a Prohibited Weapon in a Prohibited place, a
felony, were filed through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for Davis and he was
arrested by the Tomball Police Department.
