CONROE, TX -- On Wednesday 01-22-2020, Conroe P.D., Officers Stephen Willis and Brandon Hughes, assigned to the Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT), responded to a situation in the 100 Blk. of South Frazier St. at the railroad overpass. An individual threatened to commit suicide by jumping off the overpass. Officers closed all vehicle traffic, and notified the railroad company who immediately shut down train traffic. Officers negotiated with the highly agitated individual for two hours while he made numerous attempts to jump. Officers were able to divert his attention during the negotiations and take him into custody without any injuries. The individual was transported to Tri-County and later transferred to another facility where he is being treated. Outstanding job by these officers, who exhibited professionalism and extreme patience during this tense incident.
