SHENANDOAH, TX - Sam Moon Group wants you to warm up your heart and soul with a dog this winter. As part of its monthly event series, Metropark Square will bring the Montgomery County Animal Shelter to its outdoor event lawn for a “Hearts & Hounds” adoption event and Valentine’s Day-themed activities from 12-3 p.m. on February 8, 2020.

The mixed-use development will be hosting a “Hearts & Hounds” adoption event this month

Free to attend for the public, the event will include up to 20 dogs up for adoption from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The requested adoption donation is $20 per dog and all dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots (including rabies) and current on flea and heartworm prevention. The shelter will also be accepting donations of canned dog and cat food, pet supplies including collars and leashes, and cleaning supplies. The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is dedicated to engaging the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals in Montgomery County and devoted to the humane, efficient, high quality care of animals in its shelter.

For visitors who are not looking to adopt a dog at this time, there will be plenty of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. A dog parade and show will be held during the event, where guests will get to learn fun facts about each adoptable dog and crowd applause will determine the winner. Additionally, Valentine’s Day card stations will be set up so that children can make cards for their loved ones.

A variety of Metropark Square and Sam Moon Center tenants will be participating in the event. Aqua- Tots Swim Schools will be coordinating a variety of games, Martinis & Manicures will be offering free nail art for children and Sweet & Sassy will be giving free makeovers for young guests. Following the event, families can enjoy a bite to eat at one of the nearby restaurants, enjoy food and games at the recently- opened Dave & Buster’s or catch a movie at the new AMC Metropark Square 10.

Sam Moon Group kicked off its monthly event series last month, with the Houston Lion Kings performing traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Aqua-Tots, Dave & Buster’s, Martinis & Manicures and Top Sushi also participated with booths, offers and information about their businesses. On the 2nd Saturday of each month, the public is invited to join Metropark Square for a free, open event offering fun for the whole family just north of Houston.
