The Woodlands Township issues Special Event Permit Modifications

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- As a result of Montgomery County’s Declaration of Local Disaster for COVID-19 and at the direction of The Woodlands Township President/General Manager, The Woodlands Township is enacting the following actions in compliance with Park Orders in regard to Special Event Permits to ensure consistency with the Montgomery County Declaration:

Existing Permits - The Woodlands Township has revoked all approved events that required Special Event Permits through Sunday, April 12, 2020. Events meeting the criteria in which a Special Event Permit is required includes walks, runs, tournaments, corporate outings, etc. If you have an approved Special Event Permit for an event through April 12, 2020, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for a refund, or identification of a new date after April 12, 2020 by calling 281-210-3900 or email at specialevents@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov

Future Permits - The Woodlands Township will accept permits applications for events after April 12, 2020. To view the Township’s Special Event Policies and Procedures and apply for a Special Event Permit online, visit www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov or questions by calling 281-210-3900 or email at specialevents@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov. Please note permits will not be processed until such a time that the Declaration or Order has been rescinded.

“We understand the challenges associated with these circumstances and our outstanding Parks & Recreation staff is committed to assisting you with your event during this time,” said Township Chairman Gordy Bunch. “We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through this situation. We have been in contact with many if not all permit holders and are working diligently to help reschedule those events that have viable alternative dates.”
