HOUSTON, TX - METRO is playing an active role in supporting city and county leaders as well as public health officials in the fight against COVID-19 (the coronavirus). From transporting one-third of Texas Medical Center employees to work to providing relief buses for health care workers at COVID-19 testing sites, METRO continues to adapt for the health and safety of our community.

Last month, in support of social distancing, METRO began running a TMC shuttle from Fannin South to Hermann Park/Rice U station every 12 minutes during morning and afternoon peak times. The shuttles reduce crowding on the METRORail Red Line and give health care workers another transit option.

Staying Connected While Staying Apart

METRO's Customer Service Call Center workers are still on the job to help you navigate these challenging times. Thanks to our innovative Information Technology team, all of those call takers are working remotely, but ready to answer your questions seven days a week.

METRO Remains Dedicated to Public Service

METRO's first responders join bus and rail operators in wearing face masks and gloves as a safety measure.

Feel free to say hello and share your appreciation to the men and women of METRO Police still on patrol and ready to assist. But don't forget to practice social distancing when you say thank you.

Slim Thug Thanks METRO Operators, Police

Houston-based rapper Slim Thug is in quarantine recovering after recently testing positive for the coronavirus. But he's still showing love for his community. The multi-platinum artist teamed up with Smoke Shield to donate 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 300 face masks to METRO bus and rail operators and METRO Police officers.
