Commissioners Court authorizes county attorney’s office to move forward with plan to implement Commissioner Noack’s economic stimulus proposal

The Woodlands, TX -- The Montgomery County Commissioners Court authorized the county attorney’s office to move forward with pursuing a plan to implement Commissioner James Noack’s $500 economic stimulus proposal.

Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack’s proposal to return $65 million back to the taxpayers passed, subject to guidance from the US Treasury, during a special Commissioners Court session today. The county attorney will present an official resolution during the Tuesday, June 9, Commissioners Court session for final approval.

The plan, as approved, will send each homesteaded property owner throughout the county, who completes an application, a $500 stimulus check.

There are currently ~130,721 homesteaded properties in Montgomery County as of April 1, 2020.

To qualify for the funds you must: - Be a US citizen - Own a homesteaded property in Montgomery County as of April 1, 2020 - Apply between July 1 and August 1 - Be current on property taxes We will post information regarding online and in-person applications as soon as it is available.
