MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – In an effort to address a lot of the questions we are getting about the change in reporting, we have added information to the Frequently Asked Questions portion of our website. If you have a question regarding the change or calculations of the numbers, please go to https://mcphd-tx.org/ and scroll down to the FAQs. This should help clear up any confusion.

Today, we can regrettably confirm an additional death related to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 46. A man in his 60s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19. We offer our condolences to his family.

We can also confirm the total number of COVID-19 cases increased by 177 to 4,501 cases in Montgomery County. ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased to 2,088. Of the 2,088 active cases who are Montgomery County residents, 58 are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases. 2,262 people have clinically recovered.

Please note, the calculation for active cases has been updated to no longer include cases we have been unable to contact for more than 30 days. For example, if someone tested positive in April, but we have been unsuccessful in our attempts to contact them, their case would no longer be considered “active.”
