Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for July 23, 2020

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, is saddened to confirm three additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 53. A woman in her 80s from Willis, a woman in her 50s from Conroe, and a man in his 70s from Conroe all died in the hospital. All patients had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19. We offer our condolences to each family at this difficult time.

We can also confirm:

· TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 150 to 5,444.
· ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 37 to 2,539.
· 63 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
· 2,747 people have clinically recovered.

· Avoid groups of people.
· Practice social distancing.
· Wear a mask (if it is necessary to leave your home).
· Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
· Disinfect surfaces in your car and around your home.
