Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for August 21, 2020

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 172 to 7,915 since yesterday’s report.

Now, in addition to processing new cases, we are also processing cases that were reported to The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) directly by healthcare providers and entered into the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS), run by the CDC. Out of the 172 new total cases since yesterday’s report, 134 (from the NEDSS system) tested positive prior to August 5th. • ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 76 to 1,380 since yesterday’s report.

• 54 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

• 5,547 people have clinically recovered.
