MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- FAKE NEWS can come from any irresponsible source. A recent uninformed comment was made that implied a section of SH 249 appeared unstable. The image that was shared shows box girder beams as a part of the construction. Box girder beams were not used for the elevated development of SH 249 in Montgomery County.

After the recent completion of the Montgomery County Toll Road (MCTRA) – SH 249, between Spring Creek (the Montgomery County line north past the Woodtrace Blvd. and before Coe Rd.) several inspections have been made. The most recent inspection and final acceptance was done this past week. The inspection was performed by an engineering team, whose qualifications are reliable and credible.

It is a disservice to the residents of Montgomery County and the 70% of out of county commuters, who predominately use the MCTRA section, to distribute false information. Contributing to the stressful times by maliciously promoting and inciting stress and anxiety does not reflect how the community of this county and its’ guests need to be served.

Rumors are started by unreliable and uninformed opinions

Montgomery County will pursue criminal and civil penalties to the fullest extent of the law any and all false accusations that are a detriment to the citizens of this county and the services that are provided therein.
