The Woodlands Township Presents Arts in the Park featuring Visual Arts - Thoughts Had on The Waterway

THE WOODLANDS, TX - 'Thoughts Had On The Waterway' is an original dance work created by Nicola Bennett, Adam Castaneda and Tory Pierce. Made specifically for The Woodlands Waterway, this twenty-minute performance is an exploration of the collective sense of loss the world has experienced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Performances will take place at 3 and 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 27 at Waterway Square.

With the performing arts at a standstill, and their own creative lives put on hold, dance artists Bennett, Castaneda and Pierce came together and decided to self-produce a work with the intention of creating for The Woodlands community. Inspired by newfound love, the anxiety of new beginnings and a perpetual state of pushing through the year 2020, 'Thoughts Had on The Waterway' is about maintaining a sense of connection with the people that matter to us most, even if we all find ourselves six feet separated from the nearest person. 'Thoughts Had on The Waterway' is presented free of charge to the public with support from The Pilot Dance Project.

Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Glass is prohibited. Those planning to attend the performance should practice social distancing, refrain from gathering in large groups and continue following all guidelines established by the CDC when in public spaces and around others outside of your household.
