4 PM Advisory for Tropical Storm Beta

HOUSTON, TX -- Tropical Storm Beta is moving a little faster and will likely move inland by Monday afternoon.


• The center of Beta is located about 120 miles south southeast of Galveston.

• Tropical Storm Warnings remain in effect for the upper TX coast.

• Storm Surge Warnings remain in effect for the coastal Counties

• Little change in strength is forecast before beta reaches the Texas coast.

• Weakening is anticipated once Beta moves inland.

•Elevated tides along with increased winds and seas will continue to produce coastal flooding issues.

• Beta has the potential to produce a long-lived rainfall event for the TX coast starting today and persisting into the middle of next week.

Note: Do not focus on the exact track. Impacts can occur well outside the area enclosed by the cone.
