Space Center Houston’s Fall Home School Day

HOUSTON, TX - Discover space science and engineering through innovative activities and special guest speakers at Space Center Houston’s fall Home School Day Oct 16. Offering both in-person and virtual opportunities, this year's event provides a discount for home-schooled families to learn about space exploration and engage in an unforgettable day of education and inspiring activities.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet retired NASA astronaut Brian Duffy and hear about his mission experiences. Duffy was selected as an astronaut in 1985 and he is a veteran of four spaceflights, logging over 40 days in space.

Don't miss Home School Day in-person experiences including Pop-Up Science Lab demonstrations, the new BOOM live presentation about life aboard the International Space Station and the science behind combustion. Explore new exhibits including Apollo 13: Failure is Not an Option with an array of Apollo artifacts and Mission: Control the Spread to learn how NASA continues to benefit humanity with innovations that help control the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Board the NASA Tram Tour to experience NASA Johnson Space Center. Walk underneath the new permanent outdoor exhibit, a flown SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

Virtual participants will take part in hands-on activities and presentations, as well as a guided tour of the new SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and multiple flown spacecraft.

Tickets purchased onsite, the day of the event, are $24.95 for children and $29.95 for adults. Discounted tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance.
