Arthritis Foundation's Jingle Bell Run Names 2020 Community Honorees: Roger & Natalie Goertz
THE WOODLANDS, TX - Meet The Goertz – our first-ever husband and wife Community Honorees! Roger and Natalie are former business owners who are known as a powerhouse couple because of their passion for serving others and giving back to their community. After selling their business after 16 years of ownership, Natalie went back into corporate and public fund banking where she serves as Senior Vice President at Guaranty Bank & Trust and Roger launched a new business strategy company called Huddle Up.
The Goertz are passionate about raising awareness concerning arthritis, which is why they have been avid volunteer champions for the Arthritis Foundation for many years now. Natalie served as The Woodlands Jingle Bell Run Chair in 2016 and Co-Chair in 2017. The Goertz have a family history of arthritis on both sides, which include Roger’s mom, Pearl Goertz Dunning, his sister, Janie Goertz Gates, as well as Roger himself. Natalie became a warrior for the Arthritis Foundation in honor of her grandma, Patricia Wilbanks Dixon, her dad, Ron Saikowski, and was later diagnosed herself with arthritis. Boxer rescue is another one of The Goertz passions for which they have rescued numerous boxers who have received an arthritis diagnosis in varying levels.
Through proper wholefood nutrition and an active lifestyle, the Goertz have been able to continue to live their life to its fullest each day with minimal setbacks. As endurance runners and triathletes, they are sponsored by the Texas Beef Council. The Goertz are honored to be involved with the Jingle Bell Run and want to educate others that small changes can get you back to doing what you love despite an Arthritis diagnosis. Their advice is to never give up and do not let your diagnosis define you.
