HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- The Harris County Election Security Task Force is a collaboration of the Harris County Precinct One Constable's Office, the Harris County Clerk's Office, The Harris County Attorney’s Office, The Harris County District Attorney's Office and other local law enforcement agencies. The task force is the first of its kind in Harris County. The goal of this effort is to ensure a safe and secure voting experience for Harris County voters. Its priority is a response to any disruption at the polls including any acts of voter intimidation or suppression.

'We feel it is important to take extra steps to ensure voting security', said Special Assistant Harris County Attorney Terence O'Rourke.

To date in early voting, the task force has called upon tremendous resources to ensure voting is safe and secure across Harris County. It has received numerous inquiries regarding the voting process. To date, there have been 1,379,228 votes cast in Harris County. Despite the record number of early voters, the task force has received fewer than 20 allegations of wrongdoing that needed to be elevated to the level of a formal investigation. Those investigations are still underway. Once all the investigations are complete and in an effort to be fully transparent, the Task Force will release a full report to the public, media and Harris County Commissioner’s Court.

'I'm proud of our efforts to ensure the 2020 election is completed successfully. So far it has been without significant disruption,' said Constable Rosen. 'Every vote must be counted. It is our mission to ensure that voters are able to cast their ballot in a safe and secure environment.”

If you become aware of any real-time disruption requiring law enforcement intervention at a polling location, you can report that to (713) 755-7628. Other election irregularities or violations can be reported to (713) 755-6965.

The Task Force thanks voters for their patience and cooperation during this process. A special thank you should also be extended to all election judges, election workers and poll watchers for the work they are doing also to ensure the vote.
