The Woodlands Township held an event on Wednesday, November 11 at Town Green Park to celebrate and honor those men and women who faithfully served their country through military service. Dedicated to preserving individual liberty and self-determination, the heroes who fought for our freedoms were honored and recognized today at a ceremony here in The Woodlands.

The event included speeches from United States Congressman Kevin Brady, The Woodlands Township Vice Chairman, Bruce Rieser and keynote speaker, Lieutenant Colonel Barry Winnegan.

Those who spoke stressed the importance of securing and fighting for democracy as well as strengthening our military. They talked about the exceptionalism of our great country and they explained how important our military is to the United States. In preserving our freedoms and in protecting our liberties.

In addition to the great speeches, bagpipes were played, there was a presentation of colors, a giant American flag was unfurled between two firetrucks and Lieutenant Colonel Barry Winnegan completed a swearing in ceremony for future soldiers.

A special military care package drop-off booth was also onsite to allow the community to donate recommended items that would then be shipped off to the troops.

The event was an exciting and service honoring tribute to our brave men in women in uniform.
