CONROE, TX - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, to officially commemorate the newly-opened Rick and Roz Dauzat Peace Park in The Woodlands Hills®, one of Houston’s newest master planned communities in Conroe and Willis, located 13 miles north of The Woodlands®. The Woodlands Hills is developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC).

The Howard Hughes Corporation donated the naming rights for the Rick and Roz Dauzat Peace Park through a charitable auction for the Montgomery County Community Foundation. Rick and Roz Dauzat were in attendance to participate in the ribbon cutting, along with officials from The Howard Hughes Corporation, The Woodlands Hills Residential Community and the Montgomery County Community Foundation.

Rick and Roz Dauzat Peace Park, a 2.5-acre park, is designed with a passive, tranquil landscape for serene enjoyment. It features a 1.8-mile meandering pathway that winds along an intermittent creek bed, a tributary of Stewart’s Creek, accessible through three pedestrian boardwalks for leisurely walks. The forested park offers playful exploration with boulders and logs to scale and several nature trails. Connected by nature to two patio home neighborhoods in the “Ridge” village of The Woodlands Hills, Peace Park features shaded sitting areas for relaxation and reflection.

Peace Park complements another new park that has recently opened – Sue Luce’s Daisy Park, a one-acre neighborhood park nestled in the trees. Daisy Park serves as the social and recreational focal point for nearby neighborhoods in the “Grove” village of The Woodlands Hills.

In honor of Peace Park and Daisy Park, along with the “Lucy and Gus Dauzat Dog Park”, which opened in October 2019 in Founders Park, Howard Hughes raised $21,700 for the Montgomery County Community Foundation, which was accepted by the non-profit’s executive director, Julie Martineau.

“The addition of these masterfully-designed parks has enhanced the impressive amenities residents can enjoy in The Woodlands Hills,” said Heath Melton, Executive Vice President of MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation, “We are proud to have the opportunity to contribute, through the naming rights of these parks, to the Montgomery County Community Foundation, representing the wholesome and giving community of The Woodlands Hills.”
