Update on the severe thunderstorm threat today

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Initially the storms may be more scattered with a higher tornado threat - (pink) western areas then storms merge into a line and threat changes to more straight line wind damage (red) as it moves through the Houston and Gulf.


A cold front will move through the region today, bringing a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could become strong to severe this afternoon with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes/waterspouts as the main risks. Severe weather threat will diminish from west to east through early this evening.
