THE WOODLANDS, TX -- 8PM Entergy Power Update: 35k customers are still without power. 600+ are still out in The Woodlands. A huge thank you to the lineman and crews working to restore our power.

250 in TW’s will likely not get restored until tomorrow. The Woodlands United Methodist Church and Church Project have opened 24/7 Shelters for those needing an alternative place for tonight.

Pipes are bursting everywhere. I’m sure everyone knows someone that has experienced their pipes freezing and leaking. Please locate your main water shut off valve. You will need to shut off the water line if you spring a leak. TWFD assisted with 300+ calls for service related to water line breaks.

Most should have received the conserve energy notice. This applies to Centerpoint and Entergy customers. They both need our residents to limit their usage to avoid additional rolling blackouts. This notice indicates we are one step away from load shed (more outages). Let’s all do our part to limit electricity use until Saturday.
Weather is expected to have freezes each night until Saturday. Please be prepared in case systems go down again and lets all pray it does not.

Fwd:Entergy: We request limited electricity usage due to present extreme cold weather immediately, including turning off electric water heaters and lowering heating thermostats settings. Insufficient reductions may require temporary interruptions of electric service. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to restore our system to normal grid operations as soon as possible. More info

Power generation has stabilized and MISO is not requiring load shed at this time. There are future weather events that can change that at anytime so be prepared. There are no current rolling outages planned for Entergy.

30K customers remain without power. Most are outside of The Woodlands areas with a little over 1,000 without power in TWT. There are isolated local transmission issues impact these remaining customers and it is anticipated those will be resolved with power restored today.
If you have an outage they are asking you to re-report to make sure your address in on the list for repair.

Please conserve your energy usage as we are not out of the winter storms yet. They have asked that you set your heaters temperature to 68 and minimize electrical uses for the next few days.
