Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for March 8, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm mass vaccinations continue in our county. Please make sure to check email daily if you have signed up for a waitlist. To check eligibility, click here: https://dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine.aspx.

You can join the Montgomery County COVID-19 waitlist by clicking here: https://coronavirus-response-moco.hub.arcgis.com/pages/vaccinations. If you are 65+ years of age and do not have internet access, you can join by calling 936-523-3916, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm or Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Again, after signing up, please check your email daily.

Individual hospitals, physicians’ offices and pharmacies may also have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites for additional information. Today, we can confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 476 to 46,534 since Thursday, March 4th report. Of the 476 new cases, 262 were tested since 2/25/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 31 to 2,628 since Thursday, March 4th report.
• 70 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 23,455 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County has risen to 14% from 13% last week. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
