Conroe Film Commission Becomes a Member of the Texas Association of Film Commissions

CONROE, TX - Today the Conroe Film Commission became the newest member of the Texas Association of Film Commissions. Made up of 12 film commissions from around the state of Texas, the Texas Association of Film Commissions is a co-op that works to market the region to film, television and commercial productions. Through marketing initiatives and events, the Texas Association of Film Commissions promotes the Texas’ diverse locations, professional crew-base, production facilities, industry vendors, warm hospitality, governmental support, and competitive incentives to studio decision makers and filmmakers in order to bring business to Lone Star State.

Recent feature films shot in Texas include 12 Mighty Orphans, Rich Kids, Miss Juneteenth, The Lost Husband, The Blazing World, We Can Be Heroes, Run Hide Fight and Apollo 10 1?2. Television series currently filmed in Texas include: Cruel Summer, Fear the Walking Dead, Walker, Pool Kinds, Friday Night Tikes, Lone Star Law, Fixer Upper and House of Ho.

Conroe is home to a diverse group of film industry representatives including film crews, producers, actors and educators. The acting careers of Chuck Walker, Richard Bradford, Emily Neves and Teresa DePriest began in Conroe. Area’s such as Lake Conroe, the State and National Forests, and historic Downtown Conroe offers film makers a one-of-a-kind back drop. Conroe offers all the amenities of a large city while still offering that small-town feel.

Conroe has so much to offer location-wise – from the Piney Woods to the San Jacinto River to the historic downtown and now there is a media production support organization in the Conroe Film Commission,” said Austin Film Commissioner and President of the Texas Association of Film Commissioners Brian Gannon.

Texas Association of Film Commissions members include: the Amarillo Film Commission, Austin Film Commission, Brownsville Border Film Commission, Corpus Christi Film Commission, Dallas Film Commission, El Paso Film Commission, Fort Worth Film Commission, Houston Film Commission, San Antonio Film Commission, South Padre Island Film Commission and the Texas Film Commission.

The Texas Association of Film Commissions, Inc., a collective effort to promote Texas's competitive position in this industry and make our presence even bigger than the state in which we live. Each member film commission works to bring film, television and commercial production to their regions, as well as advocating for and assisting with production filming in the state.
