TODD MISSION, TX - In a recent statement on Facebook, the Texas Renaissance Festival acknowledged the passing of Clark Richard Orwick, better known as 'Smuj' from The Ded Bob Show.

The Texas Renaissance Festival wishes to express its condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Clark Richard Orwick.

Clark created and originated Ded Bob, Smuj, and The Ded Bob Show. For over 30 years they entertained countless audiences at Festivals and Fairs around the world. He was President in charge of, Shakespeare’s Shorts- butchering Shakespeare with no Apologies” since 1986.

Clark was a man of action, traveling, hiking, and he enjoyed a variety of activities, including disc golf, Bocci, and Petanque, to name a few. He never shied away from a challenge, or an opportunity to experience something new and innovative.

Above all, he was a Pillar to our vast Renaissance Community. Whether hosting a Dance Party, or a “Weenie Roast”, he was involved- always involved with his village; he helped uplift generations. He was a tireless supporter of RESCU, reaching out to help friends and strangers alike, with a hand of support, or just the opportunity to succeed.

His love, generosity, and impeccable timing will live forever in our minds and hearts. Clark’s passing is terribly sad, but it is hard- if not entirely impossible not to smile, laugh, and revel in the wonderful legacy he has given to so many.

Clark, your journey for a while continues without us, we will miss you. Until the next time, Fare thee well!

- The King
