Suspect Identity Released For The The Triple Fatality On FM 2920 And Gosling Road

SPRING, TX -- UPDATE: With a heavy heart, Constable Mark Herman's office announces that the two year old child on life support has succumbed to his injuries.

On March 14, 2021, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the intersection of FM 2920 and Gosling Road in reference to a multi-vehicle major accident with one vehicle on fire.

A 28 year old mother and her three young children were inside the vehicle that caught fire. The mother and one child died on scene. The two other children were life flighted. Unfortunately one of them has since passed away and the other is currently on life support.
Accident Investigators with Constable Mark Herman's Office discovered that the at fault vehicle struck the victim's vehicle from behind at a high rate of speed at the intersection, causing the victim's vehicle to strike the vehicle in front of her. In total seven vehicles sustained damage.

The driver of the at fault vehicle was identified as Daniel Canada was found to be intoxicated. He is currently still at the hospital being treated for his injuries. The mugshot provided is from a previous 2017 arrest in Gregg County, Texas.
'Daniel Canada has been charged with three counts of Intoxication Manslaughter and one count of Intoxication Assault. His bond was set at $160,000.00 out of the 179th District Court.'
