Authorities Still Searching for Thalia Macias, 15 Months After She Went Missing

HOUSTON, TX - It’s been 15 months since Thalia Macias went missing from Houston, Texas on December 16, 2019. Today, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the Katy Police Department in Texas, and Thalia’s family are seeking the public’s help to find this missing 16-year-old girl.

On the day she vanished, Thalia, who is from Katy, went to her high school in Houston where she attended 9th grade. When she never came home from school that day, Thalia’s family reported her missing. Thalia’s mother, Alma Romero, says she is seriously concerned for her daughter’s safety and well-being. Investigators believe Thalia may now be in the company of an adult female. Thalia’s hair may now be dyed red.

“December 16th, 2019 was the last time we’ve seen your beautiful face, smiling, laughing, acting goofy like any other morning,” said Alma. “Now it’s been 15 months and still no word and no leads. Thalia, we won’t stop looking for you until we find you and bring you home safe, our sweet baby girl.”

She is Hispanic, 5’1 tall, and weighs 70lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, Thalia had braces with pink and green bands. Thalia was 15 went she disappeared, and would now be 16.

“From the moment we got this case, we jumped on it immediately,” said Detective Frank Muniz with the Katy SD Police. “As a father myself I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for the family, so we’ve been trying to track Thalia down. “Please, if anyone knows where Thalia is, just call, no questions asked,” said Alma. “Please help us bring Thalia home. We love you so much, Thalia.”
