THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 lacrosse teams were in action this past weekend in Friendswood and came away with many positives.

The 8's had payback in mind as they were looking to avenge an overtime loss to Friendswood in 2020. The girls succeeded in toppling Friendswood, 11-3 in what can be described as a complete team effort. Hannah Drickamer led all scorers with four goals and two assists as she continues to shine in anticipation of playing for The Woodlands HIgh School her freshman year.

Others getting in on the act were Tabi Reardon as she found the back of the net four times. Kierston Hua contributed a goal, a Ground Ball and a Draw Control. Nicole McCalla had a goal and three Draw Controls. Kyla Bruno a goal and a Draw Control. Jaeda Herrmann two Draw Controls and a Ground Ball. Fallon Daniels contributed two Ground Balls. If hustle and all-around and good attitude were measured in stats, Vera Jenkins, Zoe Rolon, Emmaline Conner, Alex Wilcox and Alyson Wash would be at the top of the list.

Ella Niznik was an absolute wall in goal making 12 saves and contributing on nine successful clears. When you take into account the 8's are undefeated, you need go no further than Niznik when looking for the catalyst.

The 7's entered their game against Friendswood as underdogs and despite trailing for the majority of the game, they proved to be scrappy and fought hard to knot things up at the end of regulation. Goaltender, Emmaline Connor held down the fort in making 13 saves on the afternoon. Lola Miller continues to impress on the defensive end to include a Caused Turnover that led to the possession that culminated in the winning goal in Sudden Death scored by Grayson Smith.

Also contributing were Ariel Hilts who found twine twice. Cali Wagner had three Ground Balls. Chloe Wilcox had two Ground Balls. Corinne Polanek had three Ground Balls. Erin Suess had a goal and a Ground Ball. Kate Johnson had three goals and four Draw Controls. Livi Scank had a Ground Ball. Maisey Herman had a Ground Ball. Reagan Suess had four Ground Balls and two Draw Controls. Sarah Hancock had a Ground Ball.

Long time junior high school coach, Mike Drickamer shared his thoughts on the proceedings...

'I am so proud of how these teams continuing to progress and play at such a high level. The 8's continue to be dominant in their league games. The 7's demonstrated a never give up attitude in their game against Friendswood and fought all the way to the exciting end.'

The 5/6's beat up on Fort Bend, 10-4 and then took one on the chin at the hands of Friendswood, 8-3 but the score does not tell the tale as for the majority of the game, The Woodlands was within striking distance. Paxton Harmon and Peyton Pullin were stellar in goal for The Woodlands.

Coach Bronwyn Pullin shared her thoughts:

'We struggled in the first game offensively, but I was so proud of how the girls came back and hustled the second game. Avery Segura has become such a dependable player all over the field as she had two goals and four Ground Balls. Her energy along with players like Catherine Green and Laney Spartz and really all of the players make this team so fun and formidable on the field. Every single one of them did everything we asked of them. Coach Harmon, Coach Grace Renaud and Coach MacKenzie Kulick have really been so good with the girls. To have such quality help is really a Godsend.'

The 3/4's made a very good showing south of Houston as well in taking down Friendswood, 11-8. Kate Dalton and Maddie Shingler had three goals each. Payton Herrmann lit the lamp twice and Bella Proske, Riley Naughton and Samantha Witten had one apiece. Naughton and Zoe Conner had a save each in goal. Both goalies were efficient on their clears all game.

The 3/4's suffered a loss to the Friendswood A team, 9-3 in the afternoon. Herrmann tallied twice and Witten located the net once.
Witten and Conner had two saves each in goal.

Head Coach, Jennifer Conner was elated with the outing:

'It was a full weekend of lacrosse, but the girls stayed strong and were up to the challenge. I thought as a team they played the best they have all season. The defense was so strong as we had several 'Three Second' good defense calls. That really helped get the win in the first game. The coaches, Adrienne Drickamer, Kristin Hancock and Paige Perry really do a great job and work tirelessly to teach these girls the game.'

All three teams have a play-day in Friendswood this coming weekend.
