DWI Arrests on the rise in East Montgomery County

NEW CANEY, TX -- DWI Arrests in East Montgomery County continue to climb with the first two weeks of April seeing Pct. 4 Deputies make 19 DWI arrests including 10 arrests of multiple time DWI offenders. Pct. 4 Deputies have made a total of 79 DWI arrests this year and more than 350 since October of 2019, when Constable Hayden, with the support and assistance of Commissioner Metts formed the Pct. 4 DWI unit Driving While Intoxicated remains one of the leading causes of death on roadways in Texas and our office knows just how dangerous intoxicated driving is, the dangers they present to those on our roadways and continues to work diligently to make the community safer for you and your family. The support of the Commissioners and the Court in attacking this problem has been invaluable to Constable Hayden and the citizens of East Montgomery County. As the population of our area continues to grow, the threat of death or injury to one of our citizens from an intoxicated driver grows along with it.
