THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for their 2021 graduating class. Legacy Prep is excited to celebrate its eighth graduation ceremony at the end of this school year. Sean Stepanik has been named valedictorian and Lauren Walker has been named salutatorian.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

Sean Stepanik is graduating from Legacy Prep as valedictorian. He has attended Legacy Prep for five years. Stepanik has been involved in Legacy Prep’s football team, swim team, theater, and National Honor Society. He will be attending Trinity University in the fall.

“Attending Legacy has equipped me with time management and good study skills. Taking academically challenging classes while participating in multiple varsity sports and activities will, I anticipate, help me to have a successful college experience.,” stated Stepanik.

Stepanik received the Trustees’ Scholarship from Trinity University. He plans to major in computer science.

“I hope to carry my faith with me through life, to be an example to others of Christ’s love as well as an encouragement to my friends, family, and colleagues,” Stepanik added.

According to Legacy Prep principal Shannon Jones, “Some people think Sean is quiet, but I'm lucky enough to know differently. He is hilarious and often has his classmates in stitches with his dry sense of humor, especially on the football field. Sean has been an amazing student-athlete here at Legacy (also participating in swim). In addition to his outstanding academics and impressive athletic ability, Sean has also participated in our FOIL theater program. He is a very well-rounded student-athlete that is a great
representation of what a successful LPCA student should look like.”

Lauren Walker is graduating as salutatorian and has attended Legacy Prep for five years. She will be attending Baylor University Honor’s College in the fall to study pre-medicine. Walker has participated in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and swim team.

“Going to Legacy has given me the unique privilege and blessing of going to a university model school. Because of this, I have learned self-discipline and time management since so much work is done at home. I know these are two skills that are essential for success in college and for the rest of my life,” said Walker.

Principal Jones commented, “Lauren is very conscientious about her academics. She has worked hard, and it has paid off. Lauren is always surrounded by her friends and balances student life well. Lauren has made a real difference on our campus, most recently by volunteering to be our teacher assistant/tutor for our chemistry classes, and in our community by volunteering countless hours with Mercy House. We are excited to see what Lauren will do as she starts the next chapter of her life.”

Walker explained, “I know Legacy has prepared me academically for college and after, but I feel they have also prepared me spiritually. I hope to take the knowledge I have gained both in academics and in faith and use it to serve others. Whether it be through my career, volunteer service, or just everyday life, I hope to be a blessing to those around me through service and love.
