The Woodlands Fire Department Responds to House Fire Caused By Lightning Strike in Cochran's Crossing

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At 0053 hours The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a roof on fire after a lightning strike on Golden Sunset Circle in Cochran’s Crossing. Truck 104 arrived and reported a working fire in the attic. Firefighters made an offensive attack while simultaneously verifying that everyone was out of the structure. The fire progressed rapidly and invested the entire attic of the large 2 story home forcing the firefighters to have to exit the structure and fight the fire from the exterior. The fire was brought under control at 0300 with the structure sustaining significant damage. There were no reported injuries but a family of three will be displaced. Crews will remain on scene overnight.
