THE WOODLANDS, TX — Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough shared important information to his Facebook page today, following his tour of the new regional infusion center.

The following is his post:

“Just finished up touring the new regional infusion center that Montgomery County has opened with the assistance of Texas Department of State Health Services, St. Luke’s Hospital, HCA Conroe, and Montgomery County Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

This facility will start taking its first patients today. In order to receive monoclonal antibody infusions you must be COVID positive, be less than 10 days since the onset of symptoms or positive test, and be at risk for severe illnesses due to underlying health conditions. The infusions have been shown to dramatically reduce symptoms and hospitalizations for those who qualify and receive the treatment.

If you are covid positive and it’s been less than 10 days since symptoms began or your lab test and meet at least one of these categories you may be eligible for treatment. You should contact your primary care physician for referral.

over 65 years old, are obese, pregnant, have chronic kidney disease, diabetes, immunosuppressive disease or treatment, cardiovascular disease, sickle cell, and neurological disorders.

Your doctor can review your situation and help determine if you qualify. If necessary they can refer you to this center for treatment. By following the link at the bottom to receive the necessary forms.

This facility can accommodate up to 50 patients at a time and complete up to 150 infusions a day with the ability to increase capacity if demand necessitates it.

We are very excited to opening the first regional infusion center here in Montgomery County. This will help dramatically improve our hospital situation in the region by ensuring those at the highest risk of hospitalization due to Covid are able to get intervention treatments to prevent the need for hospitalization.”
