Promoting Freedom and Liberty at the 2021 Texas Youth Summit

THE WOODLANDS, TX - The 2021 Texas Youth Summit was hosted in Montgomery County at Mims Baptist Church and was a major success, boasting around 2000 in attendance and becoming the largest youth summit to date. With exceptional speakers from around the country, Texas Youth Summit included several US Congressmen, many local officials, well-known social media influencers, former presidential press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, US Senator Ted Cruz, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, US Representative from North Carolina Madison Cawthorn and Donald Trump Jr. as well other notable influencers and political leaders. The event is one of the largest and most influential events of its kind in the country, and is focused on helping young adults understand the importance of getting involved in politics, running for local and state office, as well as recognizing the importance and uniqueness of the United States and the importance of guarding the liberties that we hold so dear.

On Oct. 27, 1964 as President Reagan was addressing the Republican National Convention, he made the following statement - “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” It was a passion of Texas Youth Summit founder and Executive Director, Christian Collins to help give direction to young men and women regarding identifying and protecting their liberties.

About Texas Youth Summit

Texas Youth Summit’s stated mission is to “identify, educate, and train students to promote principles of fiscal responsibility, free market, limited government, American Exceptionalism, and the Judeo-Christian principles this country was founded upon.” In 2019, Christian Collins founded the Texas Youth Summit. Each event hosts nationally known political leaders, artists and influencers to speak to summit guests. These individuals have included people like Dan Crenshaw, Candace Owens, Chad Prather, and Kevin Brady. Along with engaging speakers, Texas Youth Summit also holds several expert panels that cover important topics that have included the right to life, women in politics and youth participation in local elections. It was noted during the summit that many of our founding fathers were very young when crafting the Declaration of Independence and that many people we look to as some of our most important figures in the growth and success of our country were also young men and women of faith. Through panels, they invite youth to ask questions and talk with speakers to enhance the learning experience.

Why is it important for young men and women to attend the annual Texas Youth Summit?

Christian Collins believes that the Left controls the education system, TV networks, Hollywood, and social media and they are influencing youth. He stated that it is so important youth learn the Conservative Principles that have always made and will continue to make America exceptional.

When asked about this year’s event and his hosting these types of events at local area churches like Mims Baptist Church, he said -

“The Left has taken over every major institution in our country except the church. The church must join the fight to save our country. I’m thankful for churches like Mims Baptist Church who are willing to do this. At Texas Youth Summit, we encourage youth to stand for God, family, and country to save the American Dream. To win the Culture War, we have to win the battle of ideas being fought inside the classroom and on college campuses. It’s a privilege and honor to get to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth.“

The Texas Youth Summit was exciting and engaging. The atmosphere was friendly and the desire that the young adults held to learn more about about and fight for American values was palatable. There was so much information to take in at the Summit, but the themes of the two days event covered many basic truths that included:

- The need to learn more about the founding fathers and core, God-given values and freedoms that our country was based upon.

- To not be ashamed of their conservative convictions. There may be a cost to pay in being steadfast, but those convictions are very important and should never be muted.

- To find their purpose in life though Jesus Christ and to follow God’s direction.

- To not only know about their liberties, but to also fight for them. To be “happy warriors” as Christian Collins put it. Always engaging in the public discourse but doing so with love and kindness.


- To not wait until later in life to engage in politics. To encourage them to vote, run for office and support conservative candidates in local, state and federal elections.
