THE WOODLANDS -- Interfaith of The Woodlands today announced that it will reschedule its annual Celebration of Excellence gala to April 1, 2022. The event was originally scheduled for October 2 of this year.

Nonprofit's president & CEO promises a smash success next April

“After thoughtful consideration, our Board of Directors has chosen to reschedule The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence to April 1, 2022, when we plan to honor our Hometown Heroes in the traditional, grand presentation that they deserve after decades of service to our community,” said Missy Herndon, president and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands. “While we recognize this decision may be disappointing, we are so thankful to our Hometown Heroes and our incredible sponsors who have accepted this postponement with grace and excitement, as we look to our new date next Spring.”

Herndon went on to say that normal operations of Interfaith have largely remained unaffected by Covid and other recent events. “Over the last 18 months, we have kept our doors open, serving families and seniors affected by the lingering effects of the pandemic. Because your commitment to our mission has not wavered, we have sheltered those who would otherwise be homeless, fed those who would come hungry, and provided utility, rent and mortgage assistance to neighbors facing crisis.”

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a nonprofit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area. What began as a dream of George Mitchell, founder and original developer of The Woodlands, flourished into a reality and is helping thousands of individuals and families each year. Today, Interfaith’s ongoing commitment to making a difference and being a multi-faceted community resource has it acting as an incubator for community social services and as a support for new congregations. Interfaith helps individuals and families in crisis through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, gasoline, prescription drug assistance, emergency shelter, food, clothing, and senior programs, and offers counseling, job training, and childcare.
