THE WOODLANDS, TX – Over the next seven days, we will experience high temperatures that can vary up to 30-plus degrees and more than 40 degrees for the lows. Likewise, we’ll also waffle between beautifully sunny skies and crashing thunderstorms.

Enjoy the weekend sun, because it's going into hiding for a few days next week

Welcome to Texas.

Currently, we’re creeping up through the 40s – exacerbated by a steady cold wind – to our afternoon high of 58 just before clocking-out time, but almost immediately after that we’ll be plunging steadily back down into the 30s for tonight’s low. Tomorrow we can enjoy bright, cloudless skies with a high of 67 until another temperature drop into the 30s. Not enough to freeze, but enough to fluff the blankets and maybe don the thermal undies..

The front that will come along with Sunday morning will turn the weather on its metaphorical ear. Temps will reach up to 70 as winds bring in the storm clouds and the rains that are projected to hit around the evening. These rains should be light for a couple of hours, but will increase substantially overnight.

Monday will be, amazingly, very warm and very wet, with a high expected to approach 80 degrees to go along with rainy thunderstorms. Monday night will only get down into the mid-60s for a low as the rains wane for a bit, then kick back up the closer we get to Tuesday sunrise.

Tuesday will see isolated thunderstorms with a sun desperately trying to peek through the clouds; that afternoon we’ll break 80 degrees, but from then on the temperatures will be in a general downward trend for the remainder of the week and weekend.

Early Wednesday morning the rains will kick back into high gear and we’ll have scattered thunderstorms all day and night with a high temperature that won’t even break 70. Thursday will be even colder and wetter with thundershowers and highs only in the 50s.

By this time next Friday, however, the rains will have gone on their merry way, leaving only wet streets, fed lawns, and chilly temperatures.
