THE WOODLANDS, TX – Anyone who panic-bought burst-pipe insurance might be feeling a little shamefaced with buyer’s remorse right now, but we here at the Woodlands Online Weather Station support anyone who plans for any eventuality.

Highs and lows, wet and dry, The Woodlands has it all for the next week

While it seems like we’ll emerge from this winter with our pipes intact, the weather wackiness is nowhere near finished as we slowly but surely sludge into the dog days of summer. Showers, sunny skies, thunderstorms, and partly cloudy weather will all jockey for position over the next several days, and temperatures will be all over the metaphorical weather map.

Today (Friday) will see some increased chances of showers as the afternoon wears on. Mugginess will be kept at bay, however, as the projected temperature at that time will only be in the lower 70s, finally settling for a low around 61. Tomorrow the rains should have abated but the cloud cover will be in full force, perhaps providing some relief for the runners and spectators of The Woodlands Marathon as the highs creep past 80 degrees. The winds will substantially kick up in the late morning through early afternoon, so fingers crossed that the stragglers won’t be jogging into a headwind. Saturday night will see lower winds and a low in the 60s.

Sunday will see a repeated day of cloudy morning and afternoon sun with around a 25 percent chance of some light rains and an increasing likelihood of heavier winds and a high of 81. Around midnight that night, the winds will die down but the chance of thunderstorms rolling in and staying all night goes sky-high.

Monday morning will see the rains die down as the winds kick back up. However, the high of Monday will be about the same as the low of the day before, around 64 degrees. That afternoon, the cloud cover will still keep station over our heads as the rains go away and the temperatures drop down into the 40s.

Overnight from Monday into Tuesday, we should see no rains along with a slightly diminished cloud cover. But Tuesday both should increase significantly, with near-constant showers and maximum cloudage, with a high temperature of only 56 degrees, a full 25 degrees colder than the previous Saturday’s high. The rains will continue all through Tuesday well into Wednesday.

Fortunately, the bad weather will settle down as Wednesday progresses, and by evening time the clear moonlit and starry skies will be reflected in the wet streets. The low will drop down to the low 40s, so be sure to bundle up. Thursday and Friday will experience much milder weather, with highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 30s and 40s, but not a lick of rain in sight.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online.
