THE WOODLANDS, TX – Quote of the week: “Beware the Ides of March.” – William Shakespeare

Sure, it’s Spring Break, but we already have another article about special SB events; this week’s Top 5 features some special mid-March (including St. Patrick’s Day) events. As we start off our first full week on an hour’s less sleep thanks to Daylight Saving Time kicking in early Sunday morning, we might need some extra pick-me-up to keep smiling. Luckily, Woodlands Online has a line on some fun events to brighten your week!

Wednesday, March 16
The Woodlands Township is all about community, and what better way to celebrate that than to have a chance to meet those who have sworn to serve and protect us? So head on out to the Starbucks at 3000 Research Forest for their Coffee With a Cop event from 7:30-9:30am. Take the opportunity to have a cuppa and some convo with local law enforcement officers; remember, it’s always awesome to support people who run into situations that the rest of us run away from!

Thursday, March 17
Erin Go Bragh! Yes, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, and people of all ages are getting their blarney on today. You can check out our Events Calendar for grown-up Irish festivities, but here’s something special for the little leprechauns out there. The Woodlands Children’s Museum is hosting a day full of Irish reel. So you and the family get dressed in your best green shamrocks and enjoy the Irish step-dancing of the McTeggart Irish Dance performers at 10:30am and 11:30am. Included in the price of admission, which is $7 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Friday, March 18
Stop searching and start enjoying Movies on The Lawn! Grab your friends and family and join in on a fun and free Spring Break outdoor movie experience at The Woodlands Mall. Tonight starting at 7pm they will be showing The Wizard of Oz. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and anyone you can to watch, enjoy, and sing along with this timeless classic. While their Movie Nights are complementary and dependent on weather, the Woodlands Online weather forecast is predicting perfect outdoor-movie weather.

Saturday, March 19
Join us at the Glade Arts Center on Woodlands Parkway for an incredible concert paying homage to Ray Charles and his genius of the wide variety of songs that he recorded throughout his illustrious career, performed by Diunna Greenleaf and The Blue Mercy Band. Doors open at 7pm with the enticement of handcrafted cocktails, a sommelier-curated wine list, and an a la carte dinner with full table service. Concert starts at 8pm.

Saturday & Sunday, March 19 & 20
Ladies, how about ending your weekend with a bang? Spring Guns & Ammo will be at the Women's Self Defense Expo both days this weekend at the Thunder Gun Range, 17234 FM1314 in Conroe. Come out and meet the firearms experts of this amazing local business, sign up for a class, learn self defense techniques, get some swag, and have a great time!
