Temporary closure of Birnham Woods Drive scheduled for Saturday

SPRING, TX -- Birnham Woods Drive (between Waterbend Cove and Lexington Boulevard) will be closed to through traffic for several hours Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Contractor Main Lane Industries will be installing underground storm sewer across Birnham Woods Drive just north of Lexington Boulevard as part of the Birnham Woods Drive widening project.
The road closure is scheduled to start around 7 a.m. and last until early Saturday evening. The work is being scheduled for the weekend in order to ensure that weekday school and work traffic is not disrupted. This closure will not affect any traffic along Waterbend Cove, Lexington Boulevard or Rayford Road.

The Birnham Woods Drive widening project, which started this month, will widen Birnham Woods Drive from two lanes to four lanes between Waterbend Cove and Rayford Road.

Once completed, there will be two lanes plus a left-turn lane in each direction on Birnham Woods Drive at the intersections with Waterbend Cove and Lexington Boulevard.

The project contract is for 420 calendar days.
